These students are active participants and alumni from the Columbus Youth Jazz program (presented by Columbus Jazz)\, the finest youth jazz program in the Midwest. \n12:25 PM – Bryan Olsheski featuring Ani Olsheski \n1:20 PM – Lorenzo Monk Trio \nThe Lorenzo Monk Trio is Jazz group based out of Columbus\, Ohio\, lead by pianist\, Lorenzo Monk. This group presents a wide range of music and plays anything from standards to exploratory original music. \n2:15 PM – Side-Eye \nSide-Eye with Jordan Steinbrook is an elevated\, modern Jazz\, Funk-fusion based Quartet from Columbus\, OH. They are heavily influenced by the works of the Pat Metheny Group\, John Scofield\, and Snarky Puppy\, while mixing in some pop standards of Michael Jackson\, Stevie Wonder and more! Previously under the name “Jordan Steinbrook Quartet”\, the band is made up of some of Columbus’s most in-demand musicians including Victor Madelaine on guitar\, Jordan Steinbrook on keyboard\, Molly Pauken on bass\, and Andrew Theiss on drums.

This high-energy concert pays tribute to her and the groundbreaking women who’ve defined\, expanded\, and elevated the art form. \nJoin bass virtuoso Nicki Parrott\, saxophone sensation Erena Terakubo and the Columbus Jazz Orchestra for a night of bold solos\, powerhouse compositions\, and genre-defying performances. It’s not just a concert. It’s a celebration of creativity\, courage\, and the future of jazz—led by those who’ve been turning up the heat from the very start. \nHear a world premiere of a commissioned work\, “Miss Lillian’s Jamboree” by composer Leigh Pilzer featuring guests Nicki Parrott and Erena Terakubo\, honoring the legacy of women in jazz and inspired by the compositions of Lil herself. \nFollowing Friday evening’s concert\, enjoy a talkback given by composer Leigh Pilzer all about the work\, her inspiration\, and more.
